So I had to do this Image of Chirst assignment for school, and Allesha wanted to see it, so ...prepare yourself. The reflection afterwards explains all of the pictures. This isn't the full project, but you get the jist of it...

For my image of Christ, I decided to do a compilation of nature pictures. It is when I’m outside, enjoying God’s amazing creation that I feel closest to Christ. I see him all around me, in the grass growing in vibrant greens, the trees that stand up so tall, the flowers that bloom in every colour and shape imaginable. The sky is definitely my favourite part of nature, its vastness and beauty always intrigue me and I have tons of sky pictures. I included the picture of my Bible in the grass because I feel that nature is where the words that I read in the Bible are brought to understanding for me. I can see proof of the God who is speaking to me through the words on the pages of this book. The Bible and nature are two things that seem to bring me closer to Christ - which is why I included the picture of my feet in the grass - this is where I can physically touch a part of my Creator, I see him through the flowers, the trees, the sky. The flowers and their beauty remind me of the salvation that Jesus gives. We all start as a seed, just like flowers, but as Jesus waters and nourishes us with his Word and his love, we have the potential to grow into something beautiful. The trees remind me of the cross, of what Jesus did for us when he died for all of humanity. They stand tall and strong, just as Jesus did when he was hanging on the cross. From their long arms grow oxygen-giving, life-breathing leaves, just as Christ gives life to us through his outstretched arms. The sky never ceases to amaze me with its vastness, its continuous stretch of colours and shapes never lose their beauty. Most of my pictures are sky pictures because this is what really proves to me that God is real, that his presence in my life is big and significant. When I go walking and I look up at the sky, I can’t help but praise God for his amazing creation. It’s impossible that something as intricate and infinite as the clouds, the sun and the blue sky could have been formed in a "Big bang" - it takes a loving and creative hand to form something that remarkable. Christ is all around me, which is why I tried to portray my image of him through nature. I’m working hard to get closer to Christ, to spend daily time with him and learn from him through these quiet moments. Sometimes I feel as if my failures keep me from knowing Christ as deeply as I want to, but then I look at the flowers sprouting out of the ground, they keep coming back every year, even after they die and have been buried under a bed of snow for months, they bloom bigger and more beautiful each time. I take from this that, no matter what I do, even if I do fail once in awhile, I can bounce back, and I can push through the hard ground and grow again, with Jesus’ rain and sunshine - his mercy and grace. When I think of Jesus, I think first the cross, but then of a triumphant victory over death, a glory-filled sky as he ascends into the clouds to sit on the right hand of the Father. I find it easy to relate and talk to Christ when I’m outside, where there are no distractions, I can just sit or walk and he’ll listen, or he’ll speak, and I’m there, waiting, surrounded by his creation.
